Maybe cold outreach is already your #1 source of leads and sales, or maybe you’re looking to ramp up your outreach activity. Either way, it’s vital you select the best outreach solution for your business, and your search has brought you to two of the most popular tools on the market: Outreach and QuickMail.

Sure, we’re biased, but we truly believe QuickMail is the smart choice for most startups and SMEs — especially:

  • Professional services firms

  • SaaS platforms

  • Lead gen agencies

  • Recruiters

  • Business consultants

Read on and we’ll weigh up the key differentiators in the battle of Outreach vs QuickMail…

Why Use QuickMail?

QuickMail is an outreach solution that works with Gmail, Outreach, and any other inbox provider. While there’s no shortage of outreach platforms out there, QuickMail stands out from the crowd in three essential areas:

Reliable Results

We’ve been industry leaders for nine years.

In that time, we’ve developed pioneering outreach technology like inbox rotation and free auto-warming, all with the goal of helping our users avoid the disruption and revenue loss caused by constant changes to the email ecosystem.

So we understand what it takes to generate consistent results from cold email, adapting our tools and processes to give your campaigns the greatest chance of reaching your prospects’ main inboxes.

That’s why we’ve got a 4.6-star rating on G2.

Delightful User Experience

A QuickMail dashboard

We’re confident that if you choose QuickMail, you’ll love our user experience.

We make it easy to manage multiple campaigns, scale your outreach activity by adding new inboxes, and access the clear, actionable analytics you need to improve results.

And if you need a helping hand along the way, you can reach out to our expert support team…

Expert Support

When it comes to customer support, some outreach solutions are all about closing tickets.

At QuickMail, we’re more concerned with actually solving problems.

We don’t bother with one-size-fits-all suggestions and boilerplate replies because we understand no other business has a workflow that’s exactly like yours. Instead, we take the time to dig into the challenge you’re facing and provide tailored guidance.

Whether you’ve got a basic question, a complex workflow, or an unconventional setup, our experts are ready and waiting to help you execute more successful outreach campaigns.

Of course, we don’t expect you to just take our word for it.

Not when our customer reviews do the job for us:

Why Do Businesses Choose QuickMail Over Outreach?

Now that we’ve listed the key features of each platform, let’s look at the areas in which QuickMail really impresses vs Outreach:

Customer Support

What Sets QuickMail Apart:

  • QuickMail’s support is world-class, as demonstrated by our glowing G2 reviews.

  • We’re rated 9.2/10 for quality of support on G2, compared to the industry average of 8.5.

How Outreach Compares:

Dig into their reviews and you’ll notice that a lot of users who broadly like the platform still can’t stand its customer support.

Ease of Use

What Sets QuickMail Apart:

  • G2 users have awarded us scores of 8.7/10 for ease of use and 8.9/10 for ease of setup (compared to an industry average of 8.5), so we’re clearly doing something right.

How Outreach Compares:

Outreach fares less well in the usability stakes, scoring 8.3 for ease of use and only 7.6 for ease of setup — and the longer it takes for your reps to learn a new platform, the less time they can spend actually selling.

Inbox Rotation

What Sets QuickMail Apart:

  • At QuickMail, we literally invented inbox rotation, so we know what we’re doing!

  • Every QuickMail account comes with multiple sending inboxes (from five on our entry-level plan to 50 on our Expert plan), so you can scale campaigns at the click of a button by simply adding more inboxes.

How Outreach Compares:

  • Outreach simply doesn’t do inbox rotation, forcing you to manually duplicate plans and save individual lists if you want to send from a new inbox.

  • Plus you only get a maximum of two mailboxes per user, which doesn’t leave much scope for “rotation” anyway.

Personalization

What Sets QuickMail Apart:

  • All QuickMail plans allow you to send highly personalized messages using custom attributes that contain specific information about individual prospects, such as their industry or location.

  • Users report that our personalization features help them achieve “big performance improvements”.

How Outreach Compares:

  • With Outreach, personalization is extremely limited, which is a major barrier to success given that emails with personalized message bodies generate a 32.7% higher response rate on average.

  • You can’t even personalize subject lines in email sequences — only in manual, one-off emails.

Reply Detection

What Sets QuickMail Apart:

  • With QuickMail, replies from prospects are automatically pulled into the Opportunities folder for easy accessibility and oversight — even if the prospect responded in a new email thread.

  • Replies to campaign emails are assigned to the inbox owner and can be re-assigned, previewed, and triaged without removing the bold “needs attention” indicator.

  • The status label tells you how long a prospect has been waiting for a response.

  • CC and BCC replies, snooze, and add labels for clearer accountability.

How Outreach Compares:

  • Outreach only offers basic reply detection features.

  • It won’t even pause a campaign after a response, so the prospect will receive all the rest of the emails in your sequence — unless you switch it off manually.

Reporting and Analytics

What Sets QuickMail Apart:

  • QuickMail’s dashboard makes it quick and easy to find the metrics that matter, including email opens, clicks, replies, bookings, and bounces.

  • With send-day attribution, you can immediately identify and correct any drop-offs in email deliverability.

  • Track deals won or lost by campaign to ensure you optimize for impact rather than vanity metrics.

How Outreach Compares:

  • We’ve seen lots of complaints about Outreach’s reporting and analytics tools, with many users finding them restrictive, confusing to read, and hard to use.

Plus its A/B testing functionality is extremely limited, because you can only test one variation at a time.

Deliverability

What Sets QuickMail Apart:

  • If QuickMail had a middle name, it would be “email deliverability”, with some individual QuickMail accounts sending 40,000+ emails per day.

  • All our plans include free auto-warmer access to improve your sender reputation and help you hit more main inboxes.

  • Our inbox rotation functionality allows you to scale campaigns without sacrificing deliverability by spreading email sends across multiple accounts.

  • Our randomly generated metadata leaves next-to-no trace on emails, so inbox providers can’t bulk-identify or bulk-block them.

How Outreach Compares:

  • Email deliverability is a problem for QuickMail — hardly surprising given its lack of inbox rotation.

  • Users report high bounce rates and generally poor deliverability compared to other tools.

Scalable Pricing

What Sets QuickMail Apart:

  • We’ve built scalability into our pricing by including multiple sending inboxes and unlimited team members on all QuickMail plans.

  • No need to share passwords: all team members get their own login details.

  • Once they’ve got access, your reps can create and manage campaigns and add/import prospects — and they won’t get booted out (or lose their progress) if someone else logs in.

How Outreach Compares:

  • Outreach’s pricing is far from transparent (you have to request a quote on all plans), but the platform charges per user, making it fundamentally unscalable.

Outreach vs QuickMail: Price Comparison

quickmail pricing plans 2024

A one-person business consultancy has totally different needs to a SaaS startup or a large lead generation agency.

For that reason, QuickMail and Outreach offer a range of plans aimed at businesses of different sizes and at different stages of their growth journeys. Let’s dig into each platform’s pricing tiers and what you’ll get for your money.

(All pricing information correct at time of publication.)

Entry Level

QuickMail’s Basic Plan costs $49 per month, with no minimum-term contract. It includes up to 30,000 emails per month, up to five email addresses for sending, up to 10,000 prospects, and unlimited team members.

Customers can access all the essentials they need to run cold outreach campaigns, plus advanced features like A/Z testing and scheduling automation. They also get an account dashboard incorporating campaign-level stats — essential for optimizing performance.

As for Outreach — well, it’s hard to fathom exactly what you get for your money, unless you’re familiar with phrases like “org instances” and “CRUD permissions”. You have to request pricing for all Outreach plans. And there’s no free trial available, so if it doesn’t work like you expected, you’re trapped.

However, one thing we can tell you is that Outreach is priced per user, which is bad news for multi-person teams.

Mid-Tier

Priced at $89 per month (again with no fixed contract), QuickMail’s mid-tier Pro Plan allows you to send up to 100,000 emails monthly to up to 50,000 active prospects from 20 different email addresses.

It includes all the same stuff as the Basic Plan, but with a bunch of additional functionality, including advanced analytics and native integrations with HubSpot and Pipedrive.

Sadly, we can’t tell you how much Outreach’s mid-tier Professional plan costs — you’ll have to request a quote. But pricing is on a per-user basis, so it’ll work out expensive if you have multiple people on your team.

It’s also important to point out that while Outreach does a lot of complex-sounding stuff, it lacks several features that are absolutely fundamental to successful email outreach, like email verification and inbox warmup.

Premium

At the upper end of the scale, QuickMail’s Expert Plan costs $129 per month with no minimum term. For that money, you can send up to 300,000 emails a month, have 100,000 active prospects, and leverage 50 different email addresses.

While all our plans offer all the essential features you need to run high-performing outreach campaigns, our Expert Plan offers a bunch of advanced extras — including API access and automated follow-up campaigns launched by AI based on the recipient’s response.

Outreach’s top-tier Enterprise plan costs… well, we don’t know. But any time you have to request a quote just to see a price, you can bet the answer is going to be expensive.

On the plus side, it has useful features like deal-scoring and pipeline analytics, but it’s still missing many of the basic tools you need to run high-performing outreach campaigns (like inbox warmup).
